I gather one should NOT download the new operating system update for PS3 (just came out this morning?) for the jailbreak to work? Or you guys already outsmarted Sony before the update was out :)

edit: and once again, thank you Mo for the fine job you and others do!

3.42 blocks the exploit afaik.

As for backups, I'm not sure about those, I'm using the code from http://github.com/kakaroto/PSFreedom, I'll talk to KaKaRoTo about it, afaik you can use custom payloads and shellcodes, but again I'll ask how and add it to the UI

i f'd my phone up, installed this app and switched ps3 jailbreak on/off like 3 times without having the phone connected to the ps3. Then 10 mins later battery was low tried to put it on charge but it dont charge. ive uninstalled psfreedom, deleted the original psfreedom files from root and still dont charge so im gonna flash it now.

Did you try to reboot? Or just run sudo psfreedom-disable-n900.sh in a terminal window.

Your package lists are broken, update your catalogs and try again.

To enable backup loading you should use psfreedom.ko Patched that you can find here:

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=61669

there are 2 version, 1 for stock, 1 for power kernel.

KaKaRoTo's psfreedom.ko doesn't allow to run backups.

Bye

Strange, look like a hardware issue with the USB port, I really don't think that a custom usb module can damage the usb chipset or port, try another charger/usb cable/PC.

ive tried the my computers usb and a wall charger both same thin.

makes that whush sound and a few seconds later says Not Charging

its got somin to do with psfreedom cos that does somin to the usb. makes its function go all weird. read that in the other thread.
