Guys, could you please try "FB fix" i.e. install libcurl3 from extras-devel and report if it solves the problem for you. Disable dnsmasq.conf workaround first of course :)

How do I disable the dnsmasq.conf fix?

After the following command:

sudo gainroot

I get the following error message:

Enable RD mode if you want to break your device

And the echo command returns:

cannot create /etc/dnsmasq.conf: Permission denied

Any tips?

To enable root access via the 'sudo gainroot' command:
  1. Enable the Extras repository
  2. Install the 'rootsh' package

Hi, for those using Mail For Exchange to gmail / m.google.com on their N900.

I recently started receiving the message "Error in communication with exchange server" when syncing MforE (calendar only in my case).

The version of libcurl3 referred to above, 7.25.0-1maemo7, has subsequently been promoted to Extras. If you have the Extras repository enabled but still have this problem, check which version of libcurl3 you have installed:
Code:

$ dpkg -l libcurl3
If you still have the older version installed you may have dependencies which are preventing it from being upgraded.
Do the following:
Code:

$ sudo gainroot
# apt-get update
# apt-get upgrade

See if there are messages about packages being held back or not upgraded.
To force the installation of the newer version of libcurl3:
Code:

# apt-get install libcurl3
Alternatively, consider installing the CSSU which includes an updated libcurl3.

Which is preferred option as the version in CSSU is higher than the one in extras and support is moved there. Though it is only CSSU-Testing for now with upgraded libcurl3, CSSU-Stable will include it once quarantine period of about a month expires (and there are no problems)

Hi,

I am using Nokia N900 and using mail for exchange for syncing with my corporate mail and i am using it for almost last 2 year. Now suddenly it stopped working and showing message that "Invalid host address for exchange server" and i verified the server name and is correct. I deleted the account and tried to reconfigure, but nothing happened. After that i re-flashed my N900 and still same issue.

It will be very helpful if somebody can help me on this.

Thanks & Regards
Rajesh R.

I randomly get this message but retrying syncing usually solves the problem.
My guess is that it is related to the sync hours I have in my account, since it always fails outside of the syncing times (in my case they are set between 8AM and 5PM)
Maybe your corporate exchange server has been recently upgraded....

Regards.

Do you have a corporate gmail account?
If not, google stopped providing exchange services.
