I think that too. Pretty simular to android, but without java.

Without dalvik sure, but it still runs in a similar quasi-emulated fashion, remember this is predominantly HTML5, they dropped EFL (native toolkit).

But c/c++? What do they mean with native?

Happy reading....
https://developer.tizen.org/downloads/tizen-sdk
Ofc it can utilise c/c++, but compared to native toolkits like Qt/EFL etc, the entire HTML5 "API" (for want of a better word) is limited in terms of how deeply/broadly it hooks into low lvl libraries.
That's been gradually improving over time, but it's a slow process, & it's still some way off reaching parity (if it ever does).
This has all been discussed in great depth at TMO before, & you were around at the time...

EDIT: looks like they may in-fact still be using a native library alongside HTML5, not sure what it is exactly, I know they did sideline EFL

Damn it, I swore no more posts @TMO (too busy IRL), this is def. the last one, promise... :)

Yep, it's been long suggested that they'll do something as high end as their Androids, or higher, Sept's pretty ordinary, they've had far more resources at their disposal than Jolla has had for Sailfish, & they've been at it (in a concentrated form) for quite a bit longer too, if they manage it get it out only a mth or 2 before Jolla, that's pretty ordinary.
I'm sure the hw (overall) will be excellent, but the sw (even today) still looks quite lackluster*, but they do have the added advantage of owning LOTS of content/media assets & web services, & they can use that to leverage some of their Android base across...

QML Vs EFL (possibly still being used by Tizen to some degree)
http://phoronix.com/forums/showthrea...EFL#post320442

*then there's the highly questionable F/OSS mantra that they so readily/regularly use

Hopefully based on octacore Samsung Galaxy S4 hardware.

I believe it would be.
Remember the "First Tizen" phone and the "First Android" phone by Samsung?

The Bada Wave mimmicked the Galaxy S i9000 very closely, minus the screen size and half price.
