Re: Allow Tor access to TMO
As I understand it, there already exists a filter that prevents posting links in the first N posts (cannot remember the size of N now...)
The spammers are using a specific tactic to get around this;
This gets around the forum link filter as edits of own posts cannot be automatically checked, there is no hook in the formu SW for that. Just proves how ingenious these spam-monkeys are... |

Now. What can be done for that? |
First N=3 posts get denied completely by akismet (I found out that this actually works now and then). First N=5 posts are still not allowed to use BBcode but http://* gets usually parsed as link in the forum software on its own.

Interesting. The 10 chars filter kicks in on edits. Why can't a link filter?

Re: Allow Tor access to TMO
I never worked with vBulletin and I don't know if we have any self-written plugin/hook active and/or how it works but...
Could this post http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=277452 (posts 4 and 5) be of any help? It looks like a check about http links can be added as it already is for new posts, then. |
