I had similar problems after trying to use qtirreco, which corrupted my IR config files and made the IR port totally unusable by any app.

Petrovich and Hermes are great. Angry Birds is entertaining, Extra codecs support has been useful.

1) Video calls through Skype/fring on the front facing camera

2) USB OTG - so I could take photos off my digital SLR and upload to web / share them / archive...
