Re: Nokia finishes Maemo5 support

No. No, no, no.

That would be just fine for a 5$ phone from the dealer in the corner. I paid for a mini computer, with an ARM, actual RAM, actual storage and actual OS. And I chose Nokia's...

Re: Nokia finishes Maemo5 support

Businesses that treat their customers like that don't tend to stay in business for long. Even with a monopoly, MS goes through the motions of providing support and bugfixes for their dodgy products.

Re: Nokia finishes Maemo5 support

Would you have bought the N900 if Nokia had said that it would never fix any bugs?

Re: Nokia finishes Maemo5 support

The problem with that description of other OS's is that it's ironic. Nokia has been holding an even tighter clenched anus with regards to holding in their Maemo OS. MeeGo is another story, THANK...

Re: Nokia finishes Maemo5 support

Nobody likes it whenever we point it out, but I would argue that my opinion is it's already finished. We've been saying it for a few months now: Maemo's dead, man.

Understandably, nobody that...

Re: Nokia finishes Maemo5 support

Well, I can also post any statement about (not: "by") Nokia on Bugzilla. However if it's true is another question.

Re: Nokia finishes Maemo5 support

Whoo! Nokia is like that one dork in the class that scores goals against his own team because he can't be bothered to understand how the game is played. :P

Re: Ovi Store - Instinctiv

use Qt 4.7, QML and target 3 platforms at once, Maemo 5, MeeGo and Symbian^3+
you will get more out your efforts in the long run.
it would be a shame if you decide to pull support b/c its a great...

Thumbs down Re: [Council] State of Maemo, Q32010.2

This is ridiculous. If they can't respond in a timely manner to their bug tracker they need to get the hell out of the software industry altogether. It doesn't matter if it's malice, idiocy, or...

Re: [Council] State of Maemo, Q32010.2

If any more info is needed just ask, that's what a bugtracker is for!

That's nice. So there is someone assigned to looking at licencing change requests again?

I didn't realise we had...

Re: [Council] State of Maemo, Q32010.2

My impression was that everything of substance has already been asked for and turned down by Nokia, as recorded in the relevant bugzilla entries. Is this a new message that they're willing to revisit...

Re: The N810 WiMax Runner is Selling His Tablet! :(

Yeah, I got lucky. I put up a WTB ad on Craigslist since I had seen one for $125 not too long before. A guy emailed me and said that he wanted to sell it to me. Turns out, he was selling his Sony...

Then do this. BME on N810 has a simple bug that prevents charging an old battery while the system is running. Just give us a tarball of the source used to build BME. No documentation, no support, no...

This thread started after MeeGo announcement. Now you tell us that since MeeGo exists, there is no real chance of opening closed packages of Maemo 5?

So was this "queue" nothing but a PR ploy from...

Re: Introducing the licensing change requests queue

OK. "up to three-four months" have passed. And I think we have seen Nokia open exactly 0 packages. That's very encouraging.

But it is good that we have a framework for keeping track of requests. I...

In fact, I was...
