Re: Laufhelden - Sport Tracker for Sailfish OS

Hi everyone, sorry for the silence. I was working on the next release. It is essentially ready but we have to wait a little longer for the release of Rockpool. We need this for the Pebble integration...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Just to make a check list :

The Jolla phone is updated to the latest 34.3.A.0.228 or .238 firmware (Important to do first because after unlocking the boot loader, OTA won't work as easily)

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I hope you are joking - implementing authentication on downloads of some proprietary software that you don't even have to use is not the same as having a company stick a bunch of telemetry on top of...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Fair enough other ways seems plausible.

But what are they tracking exactly? That you own SFOS?

As far as your concerned you seem to ignore the subtle nuances of being tracked 24/7 by going and...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

This is also how corporate software subscriptions work. The idea is that software development is ongoing process (new features & security fixes) and that there are related costs you have to pay as...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I don't think it was that, more the fact that they said they would support the xperia x for a set amount of time and then re-evaluate.

IMO that's reasonable since you're not paying again and again...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Sorry, I don't get your point here. Since Jolla decided to sell SFOS X individually, they need to somehow keep track of who bought a licence and who don't. The easiest way for this is obviously by...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Does anyone have a Sony Xperia X who has yet to unlock the bootloader?

Apparently if you OTA update to version 34.3 it *should* remove the need for Emma/Flashtool when installing Sailfish X.

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build) - some feedback

Flashing the blobs to the cache-partition is only the first step of "the linux way". After that you boot into recovery-mode and copy the blobs from the cache to the oem partition (which is not...

Re: Sailfish OS on Sony Xperia X (community build) - some feedback

You don't have to do that. You can either use the official way which involves flashing an update via emma (windows only tool) or do essentially what flashing via emma achieves from recovery (as...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

The requirement of Emma didn't come for no reason.

Jolla isn't allowed to distribute the blobs so Sony is putting them on a special partition in the update that we're supposed to install with...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Then they can't expect any help at all from Sony in the future.

I agree that they should've made it very clear (and legally binding) what Jolla is allowed/not allowed to distribute but burning...

Smile Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Well xperia X is not listed as compatible device for windoze flash now. So Sony is needed an probably now Sony has agreed to make that happen. --> New way for Xpreria X flashing.
