Re: Does Nokia Software Updater flash the emmc aswell?

I don't think you can flash your N900 with NSU. Even if you can, I bet it won't flash eMMC.
The best thing to do is to flash eMMC and RootFS with maemo flasher.
Instructions are here...

Re: Cannot open a listening socket on low port numbers: The address is protected

As people have said before, you should run in the higher port ranges as low port ranges require root priviliges. It also could be considered more secure as port scanners tend to check the lower ports...

Re: struggling to apt-get libqt4-maemo5-dev (qt4.6) on my n900

made the neccessary correction :p

You could also set your PATH variable to point to /opt/qt4-maemo5/bin for QT4.6 or /usr/bin/ for QT4.5, thats how I do it in order to switch between QT4.5/4.6:)

Re: Portrait Mode vs. Scrollbar

OK, no need to get flamey. I don't think anyone is suggesting that a scrollbar REPLACES kinetic scrolling. Just that kinetic scrolling cannot replace a scrollbar.
