Did some testing - Blessn900 is NOT the culprit. It is the fcam-drivers that Blessn900 pulls as a dependency and was developed as part of the Fcamera program.
Test consisted of uninstalling...

Interesting observation as I have over-exposure and you may have answered why. I have never had the n900 without stock camera, blessn900 and fcam so I never noticed that stock was OK without...

I tried to reproduce above bug, but it appeared only once on my n900. So it is hard to me to catch the problem.
