Re: ANNOUNCE: MGedcom - Genealogy GEDCOM Reader/Writer

Could you elaborate?

As with the N8x0 series, my expectations is that clicking on a link to a 'deb' file will automatically start the 'application manager' program on the N900 -- prompting for...

Re: ANNOUNCE: MGedcom - Genealogy GEDCOM Reader/Writer

Good question! I don't have (yet or ever?) my own N900, but of all the 'apps' that I have written, it is the one that is 'pure python', so my guess is that it would have the best chance of working...

Re: [Sandbox] constellation-follow your star

Well, I am lousy at trying to describe other people's apps, especially in the 'technical' sense of the underlying development/infrastructure, but I have added 'KStars' and my own humble creations......

Re: [Sandbox] constellation-follow your star

I think that it is a great idea to create/port astronomy apps/widgets for the N900! After all, it was my own interest that spawned 'MEphemeris' and 'MChronos' for the N8xx series, and ideally...

Re: Panoramic Image Stitcher Application for N900

I agree with you! Even though the idea for a stitcher is cool, I cannot imagine being able to do a 'good' job of it on such a tiny screen. Heck, when I bought a 1920x1200 monitor for my desktop to...

Re: Bible App for Maemo 5 Device(s)

I, too, am very much *assuming* that Rapier will work just as well on Maemo 5 and it does on 4. If not, I very much *hope* that the author will port it to Maemo 5! :)

Re: ANNOUNCE: MChronos - Astronomy Clock Applet

Have you looked at the README file? One of the major changes to the most recent version is the introduction of standard Maemo-style menu options, as an alternative to using the fake 'buttons':

Re: ANNOUNCE: MChronos - Astronomy Clock Applet

Hello folks:

Well, by limiting the time I spend eating and sleeping, I have added a bunch more code to 'MChronos' -- up from 1500 lines to 2500 lines. For those of you that like 'lean and mean'...

Re: Sun/Moon Application

Sesrun:

So, what did you end up doing to get the data you wanted? I would still recommend writing a very short script to call the 'PyEphem' library routines.

Although I am pleased that you got 'MChronos' to work for you, I should point out that my own version of the 'hildon-desktop-python-loader' is 0.0.2.2, and it works OK!

Re: Sun/Moon Application

Well, my 'MEphemeris' app is way overkill, but it can do rise/set stuff -- and also plot those times for an entire year:

My desktop app 'MChronos'...

Sorry, but I have no idea. Hopefully there is an 'expert' out there that knows the answer. I did some Googling, but didn't find anything except a few 'hints'.
