Re: Maemo Greeters Pilot
Hej! Jag mår bra, hoppas du också gör det! :)

Re: Maemo Greeters Pilot
Frankly, I don't like standards and conformity, but it's just me ;)
Consider my signature as GPL'd :D for what it's worth.
I also suggest a number of localized pages (one for each language) which...

Re: talk.maemo.org vs non-English forums
I personally think the next step is just to get 1-3 multilingual moderators for each sub-forum to step forward as volunteers. These should be long-time community members.
Then, Reggie makes the...

Re: Maemo Greeters Pilot
About translated greeter signatures... I'm wondering if when reading a German link text ("Wiki Seite für Einsteiger"), wouldn't people expect to be directed to content in German? I mean... they do...

Re: talk.maemo.org vs non-English forums
Do any of you remember this one?
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=3690
The "German Thread" lived from Dec. 2006 to Feb. 2008; 79 Replies and 8.000 views. Now a single thread certainly isn't...

Re: talk.maemo.org vs non-English forums
I agree with Benny. One of the most intriguing, provocative, useful things of the Internet is that it's like the primordial broth - for ideas and people on whose legs ideas walk instead that bacteria...

Re: talk.maemo.org vs non-English forums
We started experimenting with supporting different languages in the new maemo Greeters pilot today: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=33968
I was amazed at not only how quickly the greeter...

Re: talk.maemo.org vs non-English forums
People without english skills will splinter anyway from here in any case. Offering people opportunity to communicate is allways better than driving them away.
(IMHO) One of key elements in Nokia's...

Re: talk.maemo.org vs non-English forums
I think one or two test sub-forums should be started.
In order to start these sub-forums, we need a high-karma speaker of the sub-forum's language who can moderate that forum and keep things sane...

Re: talk.maemo.org vs non-English forums
Alright, we seem to have here a point of clear non-consensus. I was about to file a Brainstorm proposal with several solutions exposed here but the server is too slow at this time.
One additional...

Re: talk.maemo.org vs non-English forums
Chciałbym zauważyć iż maemo.org powinno również stanowić miejsce w którym ludzie nie mówiący po angielsku mogą znaleźć pomoc. Nie możemy ich dyskryminować ze względu na język. N900 stanie się (mam...

Re: Empathy video chat
Hehe... I installed Ubuntu 9.10 today at my bf's computer and tested empathy there, just to make sure it works and gets across the NAT etc.
I had my N810 connected to my mobile phone via BT and...

Re: Hibernation / Supsend to Disk
Trying to make the discussion of power consumed during reboot experimental, rather than theortical or mythological, I ran my N810 through reboot loops. Here are the results:
No route to host is...

Re: Hibernation / Supsend to Disk
This is wrong for the 770/N800/N810, and even more wrong for the N900 with its (supposedly) better processor and power hungry radios.

Could be an interesting project when my N900 is available; maybe tough too.

According to people working on those drivers, it'll be done next week.

Re: SIP client
Yes, it has had very good echo cancellation since the N800 days, even when used in speakerphone mode.
