maybe depending on where the swype starts from? In Harmattan you could change between swype keyboard and normal swyping from the side.

Would be nice to have but I guess this will not be achievable as swiping on the keys is exactly interpreted as is (swiping to write) and cannot be distinguished from 'keyboard change' swipe.

Xperia X users paid 50€ for one year support with possibility to extend it in the future by buying it for another year. But after one year there was no option to extend this support for another year....

I must be insane. I just spent too much money on a factory sealed "new in box" never used N900.

Re-downloaded all the firmware files and flasher utilities.

After installing Storeman, open it and look for Patchmanager 2.0 by coderus.

Therein you'll find a web catalogue where you can find patches that tweak the UI, my favourite being the Launcher...

1. Go to Settings -> Untrusted software -> Allow to install untrusted softare
2. Download Storeman and install it.
3. Now you have access to big database of Sailfish apps trough Storeman app....

A setting or a patch would be nice to close apps with a centered down swipe and open the top menu while swipping down on the edges....just the other way around like it is now.

This is clear that both the XA2 (pioneer) and XA2 ultra (discovery) will be supported from the launch.
Edit: Actually the XA2 Plus (voyager) will also be supported. For the source, look for instance...

Go to https://developer.sony.com/develop/open-devices/get-started/unlock-bootloader/
-select device -Xperia XA2-
-enter IMEI
-check the two acknowledge boxes
