Re: How many of you still use N900 as main phone?

It's nice to see people still come here and post. I think my device may end up being a 2G detox device for as long as 2G stays active in my country

Re: How many of you still use N900 as main phone?

I think I will charge up my N900 and see what I can use it up to these days... Or maybe just play with it a little bit out of pure nostalgia :) My original N900 had the infamous issues with modem,...

Re: How many of you still use N900 as main phone?

Here we are, mid-october 2023, and I still use my N900. In fact, I picked up another one on ebay when my original kinda fell apart (the USB apparently broke because it wouldn't charge) after 12...

Re: Browsers on Leste

I'm trying to test old mobile Firefox (called Fennec). I have tried built several different versions, but it is using some black voodoo and it just can't be compiled with any newer compiler. And...

Re: How many of you still use N900 as main phone?

I think that I continue use N900 until Maemo 7 (Leste) is every way as good as Maemo 5 with powerkernel then I move to Pinephone (not Pro) as main phone...or continue use N900, it's size is so handy.

Re: How many of you still use N900 as main phone?

Hi,
I left my N900 1 year ago and still miss it a lot.
Thing is that I needed something more modern. Browse, receive/send some mms, use telegram, signal etc. (SFos native, no android)
So I jumped...

Re: How many of you still use N900 as main phone?

That depends on what you call a "brick". I know for a fact that the N900 felt better in my pocket than any 5" brick I tried ever since, however thin they might have been.

Re: Nokia N810 in 2022!

Member xman from the topic "How many still use N900 as main phone?" could need N900. He has got problems with the ones he has.

Re: Nokia N810 in 2022!

It is the season... so I have 2 x near mint N900 (with suspect batteries), and an N810 with no battery, which I will gift to any forum members who want to cover the postage cost from the UK.

First...

Re: How many of you still use N900 as main phone?

Well, he was talking about his pocket specifically.
And I know for a fact that having a brick in your pocket won’t feel as good as a 7.something mm phone. Unless of course you get a huge device like...

Re: How many of you still use N900 as main phone?

You're assuming OP is impressed by thinner phones, but that is evidently not the case. In fact they specifically said they 'miss the size of the N900.' :p

Re: How many of you still use N900 as main phone?

My second N900 apparently had a broken OSK sensor too, so now it's always on keyboard mode.

Re: How many of you still use N900 as main phone?

N900 has the thickness of 3 modern phones on top of each other mate. I’m pretty sure that if you get let’s say an iPhone 13 mini, even though a bit taller, it’ll feel like you have nothing in your...

Re: How many of you still use N900 as main phone?

I finally decided to retire that N900 a few months ago, the USB port is completely ****ed at this point.

Grabbed one of my spares, flashed Kernel-Power on it and restored my backup.

Re: Tow-Boot and Leste

I think tow-boot is mostly useful for ARM64 (where there's the potential for UEFI goodies)
Beyond that, it sounds like a modern, bloated version of u-boot+bootmenu that N900 already has....
