Probably not, kernel-maemo got renamed to kernel-power and that probably caused interesting depedency issues. hotspot itself does no depend on specific version of anything.

This should do the trick. You probably zoomed out/in too much, I'll add a check so that it won't happen so easily.

Figured as much as soon as I saw that 'iwconfig wlan0 key restricted' , but I'm sure I fixed that typo "somewhere", it seems I never committed that change...

it depends.. normally you don't have to reflash the eMMC. Last time I've reflashed just the firmware my N900 was totaly unusable - some problems with graphics - menus were not shown, etc, etc... So I...

True, you dont have to flash the eMMC. Just flash the latest PR1.1.1 bin file to flash over your current root filesystem.
DO REMEMBER TO TAKE A BACKUP FIRST, SO YOU WONT LOOSE CONTACTS AND CAN...
