The easiest way is to use 'digiclock widget', it does time and year, and you can fix it to rotate or be portrait only or landscape only.

There's nothing special particular done. Use theme customizer and set all opacities to 0, awoken icons set to small, use digital clock...

The CPU etc info is desktop command execution widget, in the repos, and the commands can be found on its wiki (search for the widget on this forum then the wiki is linked to in the first post).
