Max - The first one exit 0 with no quotes.

And from maemo it would be /debian/var... from debian it would just be /var...

You can probably perform the same hack for dbus to get it to load in...

i dont use s3 on the tablet- i should but i thought u could access s3 with rsync which i believe is available @ http://repository.maemo.org/extras/ (chinook free non-free)

Yes, I had the same problem. I had to do "apt-get update" first ("Edit" -> "Reload Package Information" packages in Synaptic), and then, 17 minutes later, when it had finished updating, I tried again...
