Re: Quim keynote on Maemo's switch to Qt as the main toolkit

This is "suit&tie" decision on high level in terms of Nokia ecosystem. With Qt you can develop programs for navigation units, medium-level phones, smartphones, desktops of all major and many minor...

Re: N900 specs revealed

I'm honestly giggling at how incensed some people are getting over 0.6". If, in fact, 3.5" is "useless," "dealbreaker," etc then 4.1" has to have been pretty marginal to begin with. I completely...

Re: Idle Speculation

It isn't what this platform is about for you. Bundling won't stop people like you (or me or any regulars on this forum) from doing what each of us want. But that we want to tinker doesn't mean the...

Re: Idle Speculation

Doesn't doing it this way just result in a larger set of "blesseed" apps? New user gets tablet, goes to extras, sees there's already 2 "top notch" similar apps, and fiigures why bother with a third?...

Re: Kate Alhola's Maemo Presentation

Once you decide that you support finger use, you need to change your paradigm from desktop applications to mobile applications. They will be "less powerful" in terms of not having the breadth (and...

Re: Kate Alhola's Maemo Presentation

Nokia's plan is less for tablet/desktop compatibility than it is for tablet/S60 compatibility.

Re: What we do realistically see in the RX-51

Heh, things are starting to get really interesting. We have RX-71 now in kernel too :-) The keymap looks like there is no full QWERTY keyboard.

Re: Where is Nokia - no announcement no product - still in hibernation

What silence are you getting from Maemo? The fact that you are not hearing what you want to hear doesn't mean that there is silence.

Let's link again to...

Re: This is serious competition.

The RX-51 (the so-called "n900") will also have an OMAP3 processor. It should be out a bit before the Archos device, or at least around the same time.

I have no idea why this would be an "end of...
