Don't worry. I have been using Kernel-power for more than 2 years on my daily driver. Installed it without U-boot and just the package 'kernel-power-flasher' it will install the rest without much...

You should first tell us what you want to do! :)

When you install a kernel (step (1) you mentioned above) it is placed in a special partition so that the boot loader (NOLO) will run it.

The Monav data are stored in /home/user/MyDocs/.maps/monav_data/ for exactly this reason. :) It even keeps the master_folder/subfolder Monav data package structure, so it should also be theoretically...

Recommend to use Nemo instead. It uses uboot, no flashing of kernels every time. You can boot to Maemo or SD card, nice and easy :)

yes untouched and yes. (In N900 case)
