I actually came from an iPhone (jailbroken) to the n900. I don't want this to turn into an iPhone vs. n900. I just wanted to know what makes the n900 so much more of a "computer" than any other phone...

I couldn't sign into AIM either using Conversations or Pidgin on my N900. I found online that you have to unchcheck the box "Use Client Login" in the advanced settings. Worked fine for me after that....
