Re: Announcement - PR1.3.1 official security update

Re: (POLL) what's you next phone after the n900

Nokia N9 would be OK... even with outdated 1GHz single core CPU... but it is not sold in US.

So - anything with 1.2GHz-1.5GHz dual core Android which works on T-Mobile.

Re: Announcement - PR1.3.1 official security update

Well, I am very surprised - my "Maemo 5" update has 35 (thirty-five !) packages to update. Yes, I am on PR1.3 and no any CSSU or kernel are installed.

In this list most are a clear security stuff...

Re: The End is Coming: What do we do next?

You calm me, I know about "gtk/qt looks VERY ugly" starting from Fremantle on N900. But not any app has problem here and I was just worrying that they disable a regular X11 interface.

Re: Google buying Motorola - now will MS buy Nokia?

Just wait until they divide Nokia and sell divisions separately. Even in Motorola case there was a split - Google bought Moto Mobile only.

Re: Let's talk Nokia stock!

Well, I just want one correction -

For several years Nokia tumbled with no aim and no direction believing that their OS'es would magically transform themselves to streamlined modern iOS-like...

Re: Google buying Motorola - now will MS buy Nokia?

Just take a difference - "wants keep" vs "can keep". Intel can keep WP7 because it has a full infrastructure of relationship with M$, a lot of ready decisions "how to do" for Windows etc. For Intel...

Re: Google buying Motorola - now will MS buy Nokia?

Check you sources - "MM has 706 patents". MM has 17000 patents in mobile area. And that it is not just UI patents but heavy LTE which is a high bandwidth transmission. You can't create high speed...

Re: Google buying Motorola - now will MS buy Nokia?

No, that company has enough weapons in arms to avoid a costly purchase. At least it is definitely not an outsider on mobile market.

Re: Google buying Motorola - now will MS buy Nokia?

Moto has a license for Java Mobile (or whatever from Oracle). It would be transferred to Google I believe.

Re: N9: It's finally here

They have 33 brick-and-mortar stores around KZ. It sells wide range electronic/electric goods.

However, I guess you can't buy it from them if you are not in KZ. The reason is - credit cards, they...

No, I am not sure about auto power ON. That he said - you able to just touch handset to phone and both are "connected". Don't ask me why NFC is needed for connection, so, I translated it to "paired"...

Re: N9: It's finally here

So, my short impression is here....
