Yeah mine does that too, I just guessed that it was normal. Sometimes it loads the bootmenu when the keyboard is closed though :(

I do see where you are coming from, but it was the same with overclocking; if people want to do it, then they will do it. You just add a big disclaimer above the howto :D I mean thats like not...

I highly doubt it, but the most that could happen is that you are not allowed to download the global rootfs. I'm pretty sure flasher3.5 will allow you to flash the n900 with anything you get hold of..

I don't know about running the program from a mounted folder, i could never figure it out.. but the way i used to do it on my n95 8GB was to add the files you want into the .img file...
